How many Kombis do Kombi Love have and what colour are they?

Two, George and Mildred, Melbourne’s first and only matching Love Buses for hire. They are a beautiful and authentic Niagara Blue with Pastel White roofs and bumpers. “Something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue...”

Why are Kombis so fashionable?

Pop stars such as The Who owned one, Jamie Oliver has one, surfers immortalised them and they are amongst the most iconic vehicles in the world being associated with freedom, adventure, fun, love and peace.

Are George and Mildred authentic?

Even better. Fully restored the Love Buses have been returned to showroom condition, except for their heart shaped exhausts, more powerful VW engines and latest in-Kombi entertainment system to get everyone in the party mood.

How many passengers does each Kombi seat?

Each Kombi is licensed to carry seven passengers. Seating is spacious with six passengers in the rear and another up front.

When is Kombi Love open?

Everyday of the year except Christmas Day when the Love Buses tend to be cuddled up somewhere...

What can Kombis be hired for?

George and Mildred are lovingly available for weddings, school formals, tours, special occasions and TV & Film work.

Are chauffeurs accredited through the Victorian Taxi Directorate?

Yes which involves having a Police Check and regular medical. What’s more each Kombi Love driver is fully trained, has an excellent way with passengers and even dresses the party in authentic 1970s flares and gear.

What about insurance and having an operators licence?

Kombi Love has Fully Comprehensive Insurance and Business Liability Insurance for $10,000,000. All Kombis are licensed under the Victorian Taxi Directorate’s, Restricted Hire Vehicle license.

What is the policy on eating and drinking in the Kombis?

Passengers are politely asked to refrain from drinking and eating whilst in the Kombis so as to maintain a pristine environment for all to enjoy. Chauffeurs will happily assist in serving food and drink at beach, park and city locations.

Is there room for a cool box?

Yes certainly. George and Mildred have plenty of boot space to accommodate luggage, a cool box as well as their on-board umbrellas and detailing cleaners so they are always looking their best.

What about special requests?

Please ask as Kombi Love wishes to make your customer experience as much fun and as memorable as possible.

Are there restrictions on where Kombis can go?

George and Mildred only park legally and will not go on unsealed roads. We ask that photographers be informed of this to avoid disappointment. Kombi Love will do all they can to assist however their decision is final.

Do Kombis have seat belts?

Kombi Love takes passenger safety very seriously and therefore each Kombi has fully compliant seat belts for all 7 passengers. For the safety and wellbeing of all passengers we politely request that they are worn where practical to do so.

Do Kombis have child seat restraint mounts?

Two mounts are fitted to enable children under seven years to travel. Please note Kombi Love does not provide restraints nor booster seats and therefore their supply and fitting are the responsibility of the hirer and not the Chauffeur.

What happens if the Kombi breaks down?

A corporate vehicle will be called at Kombi Love’s expense to ensure minimum disruption. If the Kombi can be repaired through its RACV membership or dedicated mechanic the Kombi will rejoin the party.
