As Easter is just a couple of days away, our thoughts have turned towards chocolate! One of our favourite places in the Yarra Valley is having an Easter Extravaganza. It looks so good, we thought we’d have to mention it.
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt and has over 25,000 handcrafted Easter chocolates on display. From tiny to large decorative eggs, fun freckled eggs, filled and flavoured eggs, whimsical chocolate bunnies, chicks, hens and even frogs using the finest couverture, nearly one metre tall bunnies, decadent truffles.
Set on 16 hectares amongst one of Australia’s premium wine regions and surrounded by picturesque Yarra Valley vistas, an emerging orchard and sweeping lawns, the Chocolaterie is an experience the whole family can enjoy.
From Good Friday to Easter Monday, you can be greeted by the Chocolaterie’s Easter Bunnies, enjoy loads of free chocolate tastings, delight in the giant chocolate sculptures and the kids can find a special treat with our Easter egg hunts each day. Hunts will take place four times a day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (at 10am, 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm – no bookings required) in the Chocolaterie’s picturesque grounds where our Easter Bunnies will help kids under 12 search for special tokens to then claim their complimentary egg.
Whilst the kids are busy, grown ups can take five in the Chocolaterie’s Café, overlooking sweeping valley views.

If you prefer your chocolate to be luxurious and more on the serious side, you’d be hard-pressed to beat Kennedy & Wilson. After touring Europe with the winery proprietor of the renowned Yarra Valley winery Yarra Yering, Peter Wilson decided to make “the best quality chocolate possible in Australia.” Together with partner Juliana Kennedy, they certainly seem to have achieved that aim.
You might not find any Easter eggs, but you will discover their fantastically delicious chocolate on the Kennedy & Wilson website.
