Stones of the Yarra Valley

Dec 18, 2013

We have recently been back to Stones of the Yarra Valley - a winery restaurant with 50 wines on offer, complementing a fantastic foodie menu. The weddings we have attended here have all been great fun, especially as the drive over is long enough (just over an hour from the centre of Melbourne) for a great sing-a-long in George or Mildred, and is always a great laugh with the bridal party!

Rising from the rustic, weather-beaten remnants of a barn left idle for generations, Stones of the Yarra Valley has emerged as the region’s premiere food and wine destination.

With uninterrupted views across vines to the blue-tinged Great Divide, Stones of the Yarra Valley is located on one of the most picturesque and historic properties in the Yarra Valley, combining two superb restaurants – The Barn and The Stables – with a stunning rough-rendered Chapel and Dairy nestled under century-old oak trees.

The Barn is Stones of the Yarra Valley’s superb main dining room. With floor-to-ceiling views over 200 acres of vineyards to the Great Dividing Range, The Barn at Stones is one of the Yarra Valley’s most popular destinations for relaxed weekend lunches, wedding celebrations, intimate concerts and superb private events.

The Dairy - Ever had time to fill in between a wedding ceremony and reception? At Stones of the Yarra Valley this period just adds to the magic of the day, with guests invited to enjoy drinks and canapés in the Dairy, located between the Stones Chapel and Barn.

The Barn - A short stroll from the Chapel past elm trees and fountains, a reception in the historic Stones Barn can accommodate up to 180 guests. Sumptuous menus, wine lists and unforgettable entertainment – all combined with spectacular views from every seat.
