Are you looking for somewhere a little bit different for your wedding? At Kombi Love, we have been to hundreds of great venues all over Victoria - lovely, serene beach settings; luscious, green winery venues; delicious food served in cosy bistros right up to elegant country houses; but one place always makes the bridal party and us smile every time - a wedding at the zoo!
You might think that getting married at the zoo might involve handing out the wellies for your guests’ feet and pegs for their noses, but that couldn’t be further from what you’ll find - the venue has some excellent facilities in breathtaking surroundings. The Zoo is renowned for its natural beauty, from centuries-old manicured gardens to cultivated native habitats like bamboo forests and coastal environments.
Stephanie and Brad chose our VW Kombi Mildred to take them to their beautiful summer wedding at Melbourne Zoo. Stephanie told us:"Our special day was a wonderful moment in both our lives. Our ceremony took place under a large fig tree at the Melbourne Zoo with all our family and friends. A great moment was walking into the reception being addressed as man and wife and hearing a loud roar from our guests whistling and clapping. It was really special. We wish we could relive the day again, we had so much fun."
You can say ‘I do’ at Melbourne Zoo at one of their outdoor sites such as the Japanese Garden or the Platypus Lawn or choose from four themed function rooms, including the Rainforest Room, which looks onto the lush greenery of the playful Tamarin monkey habitat (our personal favourite!) The Lakeside Bistro has a built-in dance floor so you and your guests can dance the night away in style.
